ABOUT US - SUSTAINABILITY

The scope and scale of our business presents great potential for us to effect positive change.

Although we have been employing energy-conservation and high-performance principles for decades, we are now working with our clients to initiate comprehensive, environmentally responsible programs, where and when appropriate, and will pursue LEED Certification when required or requested. To date we have completed several LEED-registered projects. In addition to this we have completed numerous “high-performance” projects and are currently engaged in five projects that are either in the process of, or planning on, attaining some level of LEED certification.

As previously mentioned, Danis has been employing, and will always work with the project team to establish, practices that will significantly reduce the negative impact of buildings on the environment and enhance occupant experience, as well as have a positive impact on the facility economics over the life cycle of the building, regardless of whether a LEED certification is being sought. Danis utilizes the LEED building rating system as a tool to determine high-performance environmental project goals, identify environmental practices and strategies, measure and monitor progress, and ultimately achieve LEED certification if desired.

Collaborative actions are taken by all team members in the integrated project team process beginning with Start-up, and continuing with Project Review through Construction and Commissioning. Our projects consider all aspects of the building and the process of construction to incorporate such elements as natural ventilation, low VOC paints and adhesives, materials with high recycle content, improved air filtration barriers, and dozens of other efficient and sustainable elements.
